ALCS Preview: Tigers vs Rangers
For the second straight year the Texas Rangers find themselves in the ALCS. This time facing a Detroit Tigers team that is looking to return to the same postseason success they had in 2006 when they reached the World Series(lost to St.Louis Cardinals). Going in game one of the series will be starters Justin Verlander (24-5, 2.40 ERA) for Detroit against C.J Wilson (16-7, 2.94 ERA) for Texas.
For the Rangers, they will be well rested for this series as they were able to finish off the Tampa Bay Rays in four games. The Rangers finished that series on Tuesday night giving them three days rest at home as the visiting Tigers come into Arlington for the first two games of this seven game series.
Coming off eight days rest, starter C.J Wilson will look to rebound from a horrible start. In game one against Tampa Bay he went 5 innings giving up 8 runs(6ER) allowing seven Tiger hits, three of those being home runs, two of those to Kelly Shoppach.
